You said you’re a feng shui practitioner. What’s that?

Feng shui is an art, originating in ancient China, that looks at the relationships between ourselves and our spaces. There are many different schools of feng shui. I am a certified BTB (Black Sect Tantric Buddhist) feng shui practitioner, and I graduated from Mindful Design Feng Shui School in March 2020. I want to acknowledge the lineage of teachers that have shared their wisdom with me: my teachers are Anjie Cho and Laura Morris. Their teachers learned this practice from His Holiness Grandmaster Professor Lin Yun.

What can feng shui help me with?

Think of feng shui as energy work for your home. By looking at the energy flow in your space, we can get clues about what is going on in your life. Then, we make changes so that your home can better nourish and support you. This might look like:

  • changing the position of certain items in your home

  • adding specific colors, shapes, mirrors, or other design elements

  • cleaning and decluttering

  • meditations and rituals

  • space clearing practices

  • inviting certain plants into your space (this is my particular spin on feng shui, since I am also an herbalist and floral designer!)

When should I get a feng shui consultation?

Feng shui can be supportive when you are moving into a new home, during times of transition, when you want to work on a particular goal or intention, or if you just feel like things are a bit stagnant and your home could use some extra love and attention.

What if my home has bad feng shui?

No one’s home is perfect, and that’s not the goal anyway. Nature isn’t perfect either - which is one of the things I love about working with plants and flowers! I am not here to judge you or your space. My feng shui mentors taught me to approach feng shui from a compassionate perspective, rather than a fear-based one, and that you can always work with what you have.
